VSP 8600 VOSS 8.0.0 recommended?

Hi Guys!

Would you recommend to update my 4 VSP to VOSS Version 8.0.0? At the moment I’m using 6.3.5 and I’m undecided if i should update to 6.3.6 or 8.0.0.

Any experience with the new version?

My general rule of thumb is that if there are features in 8.x that you need now then upgrade to it. Otherwise go with 6.3.6. You can also find our Recommended Software Releases for VOSS / VSP 8600 at https://www.extremenetworks.com/support/compatibility-matrices/ for reference.

If it is about critical devices I’m always reluctant to go for an x.0.0 version.

I use to deploy this kind of version on distribution/aggregation switches when all connections are redundant.

No experience on 8.0.0 for VSP8600
