Hi Extreme Networks Community Members
I would like to know if an AP460e with WING OS could be configured to work in standalone mode.
We are trying to configure it and we have not been able to get it to work in standalone mode. We have changed all the possible parameters and we are not able to do this. We are thinking that they can only work under the command of a WiFi controller.
Please, could you help me with this issue
Thank you very much and I will be very grateful for the help provided
Here is the sh version:
AP460e#sh version
AP460 version 7.9.2.0-010R

Hello @Hannibal,
Yes the issue is the antenna group: https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000085076
Go through this list of our antenna models and select the one the is closest to the one you installed and select it. Not sure how good it'll be but it should be close enough.

Hello @Hannibal,
Here are some guidelines for you:
1 - Reset the AP back to factory defaults
2 - Configure WLAN
3 - Map it to the radios in the APs profile or as an override
4 - Configure an RF-domain
5 - Make sure that radio is set to outdoor
6 - Make sure you configure the antenna group id: https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000100518
7 - Configure the best practices firewall policy
8 - Configure static channel and power settings since Smart-RF needs 3 APs at a min to properly operate.
Here's an article that may help with your predicament:

Thank you very much, Christop
I´m sorry for no reply before; we had problem to sign in again
I think we have managed to get the AP460e to be configured and work in standalone mode through the "no adoption-mode controller" command, however, we are unable to get the radio to leave the "OFF" state and with the following message: "regulatory power requirement".
It could be that this state is due to the fact that we are using an antenna no available in the list where you configure the antenna group id; exactly, we are using the antenna Itelite model PAT5016DP.
Is it necessary to use the antennas available in the list so that the AP460e can work correctly?
With my best regards and thanks very much again
Hann
