The data sheet for the 3805 access point shows that the ethernet port supports up to 1000 Mbps but on our c5210 I only see options to configure it up to 100 Mbps. Am I missing something somewhere?

You'd get 1G only if the port is set to Auto = autonegotiation is enabled.
If you have autonegotiation also enabled on the switch port you should be able to get a 1G link between switch and AP.
There is no static setting for 1G in the GUI.

Or the AP was set to 100Mbit/s in the previous config?
SSH to AP and set it to factory default.

It could be a bad cable or PoE adapter.
