this is a new identifi install with 4x4 APs
the legacy Meru install was working flawlessly
the airprint server disappears after an amount of time, turning the airprint server's wifi off then back on gets functionality back
multicast settings are set to allow all multicast traffic
not sure what to adjust to get airprint to continuously work
thanks!

You might see more information on the controller if you've station events enabled in > Controller > Logs > System Log Level > Report station events on controlller
If so you'd take a look in > Logs> Station Events > put in the MAC of the client in the field in the upper right corner to filter on that client
You should see the de-registration cause in the "additional detail" column.

Here is a picture from the netsight server
Not sure why it is de-registering
maybe it is a bug? I know the newest firmware addressed the exact same issue for some other devices, maybe this is still an issue with a mac os server?

As you already use bridge@AP the traffic isn't passed thru the WLAN controller and there is no multicast settings that could affect/stop the traffic..... beside ACLs in the role but as it's working for sometimes the rule set should be OK.
Could you check if the server is reachable via ping if the issue arise again.

c35 controller, AP3935i, 10.11.03.0004, all wlans/topologies are bridged at ap
DTIM seemed pretty high to me at 5, lowered to 2.
Not sure if that will help or not.
Is there a specific setting to allow airplay / bonjour? Perhaps disabling that and allowing all multicast traffic can fix it?
thanks for the reply

You should tell us a little bit more about the installation....
controller type, AP model, software version, setup of the WLAN service, topology used.
In case the used topology isn't bridge@AP could you give it a try with it to see whether you run into the same issue with this topology mode.
