Country Code Change and General Wi-Fi issues

Got used Aerohive AP250's from eBay US and tried to assign country code “New Zealand” but it shows this error.

“You cannot change the country code of the device (AH-xxxxxx) because only devices whose regions are set to World or EU can be changed.”

Country Code comes up as “United States (840)” and running the latest OS “10.0.10.2”.

Was told by support to submit a ticket or give them a call. Choose to submit a ticket but when I tried to create a login for support portal, it was rejected for using a personal email.

Can some help me submitting a ticket? I’ll message you the serial number.

 

Other issue I have been facing with setting up the AP is that it’s not broadcasting SSID (comes as hidden) even though the “Hide SSID “ option is turned off.

I have never used Aerohive products or ExtremeCloudIQ.

Can we mark this issue as resolved.

The issue was with the TP-Link Omada switch. Removing it from the cloud and configuring it locally solved the isssue.

Still can’t get the AP to broadcast SSID even after assigning the correct country code. I’m’m using both interfaces wifi0 & wifi1 to broadcast the same SSID. 

ISP VDSL Modem (10.0.0.1) > TP-Link VPN Router (192.168.0.1) > TP-Link Switch > AP250 (eth0, PoE).

I have only used VLAN1

I was of the view that the regulatory domain can be changed to New Zealand as the AP has R-NZ certification on the back?

As mentioned previously my Extreme Portal request was rejected because I had used personal email address (@aol.com.au). I don’t have a company email as these AP’s are for home use.

Lastly I thought IQ Connect (free tier) was all you need to setup the AP’s?

@hsran - That is correct - if this AP has a manufacture site in the US, you cannot change to another country (illegal).  As for signing up for Extreme Support with a Portal account, did you check your SPAM folder for any follow-up emails from the Support site?

And - for the AP250, you will need an instance of Extreme Cloud IQ to manage the AP.  You can purchase the Access Point from a third party vendor, but you need to have the underlying Cloud Instance to Manage it.
