AP7522 Web UI 404 error message after factory reset

AP7522 Web UI 404 error message after factory reset

Hello,

We have inherited a few AP7522 with external antennas from a previous company, but we don't have access to them. I've just did a factory reset on one of them. I have CLI access via console but I get a 404 - Not Found error message via https://IPAddress.

There is a https server settings in  the management-policy default so not sure what is the problem. The version of the AP is 7.7.1.9-001R

We've never had extreme APs. If WEB UI doesn't work, is there any documentation about setting up them via CLI?

Do we need to buy any licenses or we can use them as normal stand alone APs on 5GHz and 2.4GHz with same SSID connected them via network switch?

Please can you advise?

Many thanks

Hello Robert,

Thanks for the links. I have a look. Unfortunately, the 'use enterprise ui' solution didn't help. I put it under profile ap7522 default-ap7522 and did the com wr command twice and the device went into a loop saying something like 'This configuration requires a reboot' and nothing happened so I powered it off. After reboot I still have 404 error page.

Unfortunately I cannot use the how to guides as it refers to the web interface settings. Is there a documentation about CLI how to guides if web interface not working?

Many thanks

Hello,

Usually when an AP has a "lean" firmware image you get a 403 error, maybe this could be the case too, lean images only grant access via CLI, if you want access to Web UI you need to install a non "lean" (FULL) firmware image.

Another case could be that you are trying to access to the Web UI with a regular web browser, 7XXX models uses WiNG for Web management which runs on flash, and since flash is no longer supported you cannot use a regular web browser to access the web UI, you need to download Extreme WiNG Manager, which is a custom made flash enable browser, you can find it in the support-downloads section. Also, since you factory reset the device, are you trying to access using the default ip thats on the label sticked on the back of the ip? usually starts with a https://169.254.xxx.xxx. Just make sure your PC network configuration can reach that IP.

I checked the vlan1 IP address via CLI and I tried that IP address. I cannot tell if this image is lean or full image. I tried all different web browsers but all had the same result. I don't think if I have access to support portal as I searched wing discovery tool download but I think need some kind of contract or license with support
