Radius guest access duration not applied since 2020

Hi,

Something funky is going on with Radius guest access duration not being applied since we entered the year 2020.

Running WiNG 5.9.7.0.

If we add a guest user:

user Test password 0 12345678 group Guest-Group guest expiry-time 12:00 expiry-date 12/31/2020 start-time 00:00 start-date 01/01/2020 access-duration  7200

And then connect and login, the CP welcome page will show "Time Remaining" 358 days.

Hi Vedran,

You may want to look into Eguest as it has more guest session options than the basic captive portal include in WING.

So this setting never actually had any effect?

I’ve set the session time in the guest group to 5 days and it seems to be working but the guest gets 5 days every time they login which is not brilliant.

Besides configuring the guest user expiry-date, any other way to prevent this?

You will need to enforce the access duration through the Guest group and not directly on the Radius user.
Currently this is a limitation of the internal radius in WING.

I’ve tried changing the date on all devices including the client and the same thing happens but I’m pretty sure this setting worked fine before. Many clients have this setting configured and only today and yesterday have they started reporting this issue to us.
