We have a new and improved Asset Discovery Tool (ADT) available on the Extreme Portal! You can find it on the Portal home page:

The new ADT 2.0 tool runs on Microsoft Windows, MacOS, and Linux and has a new user interface. It also now supports Extreme Universal Switching models running SwitchEngine and FabricEngine. It replaces the prior ADT 1.x which has been removed from the Portal.

ADT 2.0 supports both command line (CLI) and graphical interfaces (GUI). Users can easily input an IP address or IP range for their network to discover, or upload a .CSV file with IP and SNMP details, and ADT will attempt to retrieve a list with this information:

  • IP address
  • Host name
  • Contact
  • Location
  • System
  • Description
  • Model name
  • Serial number
  • Part number
  • Software version
  • Hardware version
  • Firmware version
  • Manufacturer
  • MFG date
  • System OID
  • MAC address

The extent of information retrieved is dependent on a combination of factors including ADT support for the Extreme device, the device’s SNMP implementation as an Extreme product, the device's SNMP configuration in the customer’s network, and any firewalls or ACLs that can interfere with SNMP discovery. This information is exported to a .CSV file for viewing, typically used for service contract renewals.
