how can we manage an 800-switch (08G20G4-24) - we have forgot the configured IP-address and cannot manage via serial-console (no output on the terminal- maybe the serial port is disabled). how can we set the switch to factory-default (IP: 192.168.10.1) and how can we enable the serial-console?

the switch bootet and work fine (all port are o.k. and data were transfered) - here are the LED-status: PWR-LED lits green / CPU-LED doesĀ“nt lit / RPS-LED doesĀ“nt lit / FAN-LED doesĀ“nt lit

thanks a lot!

It looks like you have got a switch with a defective COM port and LED. Device needs to be replaced. To generate an RMA go to https://extranet.extremenetworks.com/mysupport/ocm/pages/rma.aspx and fill out the form with shipping and product information and we will take care of it for you.

I think there are no discovery protocols running on the 800...

Are there any discovery protocols running on this switch (CDP, LLDP, etc.)? If so, you may be able to find an IP address from another connected device or via packet capture.

Thats the really problem: the device still forwarding data traffic fine - but we cannot reach via console (CPU-LED doesĀ“nt lit) and have forgot the IP-address...

The serial port interface is enabled by default. You mentioned that the status of the CPU LED is off. The CPU LED should be solid green if it were operating correctly. Is the device still forwarding data traffic? You need access via console to reset the configuration to factory defaults. See document https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/How_To/How-to-recover-password-of-800-Series-swit... for additional information.
