I have switches Summit 42xdc_When i doin command on my switches Switch#show diagnostics The replay be . the diagnostics faill Why i got on this faill?

Word of caution. You may not be able to see root cause of problem if you are not consoled in. Second if the problem has gotten worse there are some problems that will cause the switch to go into limited access mode and you will not be able to get it back up... I would prepare to replace the switch and make sure you have access, configuration, and the spare in hand just incase it does not come back up. We always upgrade to latest code for that switch line and do a save then go back and do the extended diagnostics ....

Running diagnostics will reboot the switch as a part of this process. It is not recommended to do this while the switch is in production.

Thant for replay. Just i have qustions. If i do the command Swihch#"run diagnostics extended" . This will not efficet on traffic data, frame, switch access?, becouse i will do that via telnet.

Hi Munir,

If the switch is not currently in production, please run the command "run diagnostics extended" and then post the results here, via "show diagnostics". Please only do this if the switch is not currently in production, or not being used. We do not want to negatively impact your business.

Alternatively, you can open a case with GTAC and we will investigate offline.
