Support for running XIQ software or appliances on Nutanix AHV hypervisor

I'm a sales engineer on the data center side and ran into this today.  Had to do a little research... 

Officially, it appears Extreme Networks doesn't support running their appliances on Nutanix AHV.  AHV is actually a derivative of Redhat KVM, so if it will run on KVM (usually a QCOW image), it will likely run on AHV, or can be configured to.  It is *supported* to run the appliances on ESX or HyperV or KVM, I believe.

My question is - If I just build a new VM on AHV with the right specs, running a compatible linux distro, can't I just install the XIQ SiteEngine and XIQ Controller apps on them and treat them well?  Is this supported?  Is the functionality the same?

AFAIK, it is something we are working on, but I do not have any details. Maybe someone else can answer.
