Hi
We using AP305cx access points in combination with directional antenna’s. However, the radiation pattern of the 2.4Ghz is much to weak then what we could expect (the transmitpower of the AP is ok). We did some testing with an AP122x and see the same issue. Is there a configuration issue possible of this cause (maybe by CLI)?
Thx!

Hi Hans,
what antenna are you talking about and what is weak and what did you expect ?
Could you provide more technical details about the whole setup and configuration.

We might want to dig a bit deeper than the GUI spectrum analyser just to be sure. This guide covers some CLI commands we can run and what parts of the output we want to look at: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?n=000047387&q=Radio%20Frequency%20interference
The GUI pictures/paths are a bit outdated, I’ll see what we can do about updating the article, but the CLI commands should still work.

Thx for the feedback. We are using channels 1-6-11, we even did a full spectrum analyser to check for interference or channels with a high airtime usage or duty cycle, however none of this is present.

Hi Hans, I’d recommend checking that you’re using the best 2.4GHz channel for your location. For instance, we recommend using only channels 1, 6, or 11 for 2.4GHz in the US as these are non-overlapping channels.
