We have just purchased 25 Aerohive AP250 but was only able to onboard 7 on the portal. With the 5 or 6 others that I've so far tried, I keep getting this error "The product type for the device does not exist", which is really strange.

There are some settings that can't be changed once the DHCP server object is created, and an existing IP scope is one of those things. You would have to make a new IP scope all together, or a new DHCP server object.

Am I wrong to think you can edit or expand dhcp scope?

The capture below gives no option other than to delete or add.

Could you get a packet capture taken while a client is unable to get an IP address? Please send the MAC address of the client that was unable to get an IP address with the packet capture so we can filter for the right traffic.

This guide reviews how to capture a remote sniffer packet capture on NG: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Packet-Capture-in-NG

Please feel free to send that over to communityhelp@aerohive.com.

Hi guys,

Is this something any of you guys have experienced?

I have a DHCP scope configured on one of the APs for the Guest SSID, which is ok but starting from today, some devices on guest are having issues obtaining lease. Looking at the scope range, I still have about 80 IPs unassigned?

Also, I find you can’t edit the dhcp scope range, only the option to delete or ad another scope? But no problem reducing the lease.

By the way, we have the Staff SSID scope on a Windows Server and that’s working without any issues. Please can someone help or advise?

Kind regards,
Ade.

That's all you should need to put clients on that VLAN, and the APs will know which AP is the DHCP server for that VLAN so the traffic will be passed there to get an IP address.
