Can not add NAC virtual appliance to Netsight

Hi,

I have deployed Management Center and Access Control virtual engines on a VMware ESX. And I was able to install Extreme Management Center (formerly NetSight) network management evaluation license.
But when I tried to add NAC virtual appliance through NAC Manager "No Gateways Detected" error occurred.
They are on the same subnet and able to ping each other using their hostnames.
Both engines are running on version 7.1.2.12

I followed your advices, and able to add NAC appliance to Extreme Management Center.

But I think these articles are a bit short. For example they did not mentioned which type of authentication and privacy to select during SNMP profile creation. If we select SHA or AES, EMC can not discover the NAC appliance.

To learn which type of authentication and privacy is used by NAC, issue the "

Also,

You may want to check to see if the web service credentials have been changed from default. In NAC Manager --> Tools --> Management and configuration --> Advanced configuration.

Check Global/appliance settings --> Appliance settings --> Default (unless otherwise specified) --> Credentials

Unhide the "web service credentials"

Make a note of what they are.

SSH to the nac appliance and run the command : confWebCredentials

Then issue a nacctl restart

Start with adding the NAC as a device to EMC - remove the NAC first and start from scratch.

For that you'd need to create a SNMP/CLI profile with the parameters that you've used during the NAC initial setup.

Then add the device..

If that is working it should be reachable via SNMP = green/up in the device tree.

Then add it in EMC > Access Control > Engines
Use again the correct SNMP profile
