Hi,
We are planning on upgrading both our XIQ-SE & NAC to version 24.10.12. Currently, both are running 24.2.15.5.
I know that in order to upgrade the XIQ-SE, we need to stand up a new a new 24.10.12 server, and migrate the DB.
What I don't know is what the process is for upgrading the NAC appliance. Are we OK to use nac_appliance_64bit_sw_upgrade_to_24.10.12.14.bin to upgrade our appliances, or do we need to install a new server using nac_appliance_64bit.24.10.12.14-Large.ova? If it is the latter, are there post migration steps that need to be taken.
I found a wealth of information for upgrading the site engine, but not the NAC appliance.
Thank you,
Ken

The upgrade process for companion products including Extreme Control, Extreme Analytics and Traffic Sensor remain unchanged for this release and follow the standard process noted in HOW TO Upgrade ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine, Control and Analytics Using BIN Image.

The NAC config is part of Site Engine backup (database). Sometimes it is easier to spin new NAC VM and just hit the enforce button.

HI Ken,
I think the NAC upgrade is easier than the Site Engine upgrade and does not require special steps that are different from the normal upgrade process. Obviously, the change of database you know about and how the method involves using another VM. Always backup beforehand and check everything is as expected afterwards.
