Can someone please explain the meaning of the following. I am seeing this on my switches.

Thank you for that information. It's nice to know that even High CPU and Port utilization can cause to VRRP failure.

Other than the inter-extreme switch link(where vrrp passes) failing, what could be the reason for the back-up to become Master?

The reason for the above log
messages is “ignoring lower priority advert”, it means VRRP master switch is receving the hello packets from lower priority switch. This log messages appered when backup VRRP became Master and start sending Hello packets, however current master is still present in the network. It may be DUAL master condition here.
