Hello…
Is it o.k. if I only configure one specific vlan for ELRP implementation accros all my devices and just tag the ports to it (excluding the uplinks)? Is there like a “Best practice” document to implemented for loop protection?
Thanks

I do it like this since a short time since this greatly reduces the multicast traffic in bigger environments. I would also tag the ELRP-VLAN to the Uplink, but don’t enable ELRP on this port.
On the aboive switch (Distribution/Core Switch) I would also create the same ELRP-VLAN, tag it to all ports (downlinks) and enable ELRP for this VLAN (but maybe without port-disable). That way you can detect loops that are patched across different switches.

Hi Karina,
The articles below may be helpful:
I would recommend adding the uplink ports to your elrp configuration but making sure they do not get disabled.
configure elrp-client disable-port exclude <UPLINK PORTS>
