Recently had a couple of switches giving me weird vlan error messages like that. Did a show log and there were memory issues, ended up having to reboot the switch to clear up lack of memory and then was able to configure the vlan like I wanted. Might be the issue?

You need to add a tag to the vlan
"configure vlan black tag 10"
Where "10" is an example.
