Ports denied power

Ports denied power

Hey all,

We had a power outage and when everything came back on, my Extreme Switch boots, and reads uplink (port 10) but ports 1 & 7 where items were plugged in, no longer work. I ran SH Tech, and it says that Ports 1 & 7 are being denied power.

What should I do fi fix this switch? I checked the outlet with an outlet tester and power is fine.

Thank you!

Also to add @StephanH - I tried a few other things and still nothing. I’m going to contact Extreme and file and RMA. Thank you.

Have you tried turning PoE off and on again?
With disable/enable inline-power port x?
What is in the log after executing these commands?

Hi StephanH,

Right, it’s odd. There’s only two devices plugged in. Device one in port 1, and device two in port 7. Everything was working fine before the power outage.

The switch is a X430 8 port and according to the manual total Power = 84.2Watt

Hello,

maybe your power budget for PoE is exceeded.
Check how many devices are supplied with PoE on the switch.
In the datasheet of your switch you can see how much power budget you have.
