Hi community,

Customer was asking to get an overview about what optics he have in use for a specific campus.
I checked that with command:

“show port config no-refresh” and got:

GERMUESW038.1 # show port 1 config no-refresh
Port Configuration
Port Virtual Port Link Auto Speed Duplex Flow Load Media
router State State Neg Cfg Actual Cfg Actual Cntrl Master Pri Red
================================================================================
1 VR-Default E A ON AUTO 1000 AUTO FULL NONE 1 LX
================================================================================

So for me it is a long range GBic.

When checking the same port with "debug hal show optic-info port 1" the output is not 100% clear.

GERMUESW038.4 # debug hal show optic-info port 1
Port 1
SFP or SFP+: SFP
Signal: present
TX Fault: no
SFP/SFP+ Vendor: OEM
SFP/SFP+ Part Number: SFP-SX-MM-BR
SFP/SFP+ Serial Number: BR32M20
SFP/SFP+ Manufacture Date: 150306
SFP/SFP+ Type: SFP/SFP+
Connector: LC
GE Compliance: 1000BASE-LX
Wavelength: 850

Part number is SX, GE Compliance is LX and wavelength is 850 which implement a SX GBic.

And additional when checking "show ports transceiver information detail":

GERMUESW038.2 # sho ports transceiver information detail

Port : 1
Error: DDMI is not supported on this LX transceiver

It says LX transceiver.

Anyone have an idear what kind of gbic it is, or better how to find out the rigth type of gbic

Thanks

Hi Nico,

These commands read what’s programmed on the SFP itself.

Thanks

Brad
