Adobe Flash end of support 2020 - WING GUI 5.9.x/7.x

There is a GUI migration plan based on FLASH for other technologies such as HTML5 before the end of support by Adobe and most browsers in Dec / 2020. Or we will suffer the same type of nightmare that exists with JAVA-based GUIs that were never updated again.

Hi,

Did you reach out to local SE or GTAC to get the file?

If not, an alternative is Palemoon + https://archive.org/details/flashplayer_old with updates disabled. Or switch to CLI if it’s an option, certain tasks are much faster with it.

Hope that helps,

Tomasz

The Wingman link is still broken for me...

A couple of things on the latest release of WingMan:

  • Why was WingMan changed from 64-bit to 32-bit?  I know it doesn’t need a ton of RAM, but this still seems like a step backwards.  I doubt there is anyone who doesn’t have access to a Windows 10 64-bit machine.
  • Windows SmartScreen kicked in when I ran the MSI for 1.0.6.
  • Can the next release please open a larger window?  No one has 640x480 monitors anymore.

Hi,

Wingman link is being fixed, you can get that through the local SE.

A brutal workaround: download Palemoon browser + https://archive.org/details/flashplayer_old

Hope that helps,

Tomasz
