Adopt AP650 in controller RFS4000

I am new in the area of ​​networks and in the company that I work are asking me to expand the WiFi network, the equipment is AP's 650 and an RFS4000 controller but I have no idea how to adopt the AP to the controller. If you would be very kind to explain the process I would greatly appreciate it.

Assuming that they are on same firmware version & WLC has a license. By default with default config as long as the APs & WLC are on the same broadcast domain they should be able to adopt.

Hello Alexander,

The AP650 APs have been EOL for a while now, the first thing you need to verify is the firmware version since those have been around since the 4.x firmware days and will not automatically adopt to and upgrade on a 5.x controller.

Start by checking the firmware on both
Check the method used to adopt existing AP650 APs (option 191, controller host, mlcp vlan)
