Hello,

I have VX9000 controller with ip 10.48.1.5 that is adopting all the APs from his subnet but not adopting the APs (AP410) from other subnet (10.56.10.XXX).
Do you know if VX9000 can adopt APs from other subnets ? If yes, how ?

Kind regards,
Andrew

Hi guys,
Thanks for your answers, really apreciate it.
I tried to ping the AP from the VX9000 and I have the message "connect: Network is unreachable". What can be the issue? The subnets see each other, from my laptop or other server I can ping from one subnet to the other w/o any issue. Any advice ?

Hello Andrei,

As Ron said, sure the controller can adopt AP from multiple different rf-domains (sites) remote to it. The most basic of requirements is that the APs at said remote sites be able to ping the controller. If they can't ping the controller then this is something on the LAN side that you need to fix. Once the APs are able to ping (meaning see) the controller, you can select one of the methods listed in this article for layer 3 adoption:

I hope this helps,

Hi, yes the controller is able to adopt APs from another IP subnet.

Here the link > https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000086596

You should tell us more details >
- IP communication > could the AP even ping the VX
- discovery > how does the AP learn the VX IP
- are the working APs also AP410 ?
