Hi All, first post so be gentle. Just got hold of a AP505i AP and I'm wondering if it can be used in standalone/autonomous mode. It will be the only wireless AP on my home network. hoping this isn't just a cloud device.
Any hints, tips and outright you bought the wrong item would be appreciated.

Hello pkeats,
Yes you can run the AP5051 in standalone mode. When you boot the AP up, if it gets into discovery mode, press "S" and it'll boot up into WiNG personality. Configure and use as standalone AP.

It can run WiNG, so yes. Note that you'll only be able to configure it through the command-line since Flash is dead. You could also set up a free XIQ Connect account to manage it from the cloud.

Correction needed here....APs running the WiNG OS cannot be 'managed' by XIQ.

I think I've discovered that as I'm not able to onboard it using XIQ, pity. So what am I left with as an option?. will it be CLI only?
