Factory resetting Motorola Wireless Controller without credentials?

Hello,

We have a Motorola NX-7510 (Part number NX-7510E-100R0-WR) from 09/15.

It has been upgraded but rather than throw the old one away, I was interested to see if I could factory-reset it and sell it and donate to charity.

However, no one knows the credentials for it and I've tried the standard ones I've found so far with no success.

Is there another way to reset it using the power button or similar or is it toast?

Many thanks,

John

Hello John,

Not sure what you upgraded it to but you can try the following:

To reset the controller, console into it and use the following credentials:

Login as: reset
Password: FactoryDefault

Once back up you can access it using the default credentials:
admin/admin123

Thank you,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for that.

We had to move to a different system because what was integrated just didn't work - mainly poor reliability / constant client disconnects etc. I understand it was the first entry-level system (early 2016) meaning one didn't need to buy the enterprise-level system but in the end the technicians from Motorola were using enterprise firmware on WAPs to add back in features they hoped would resolve but to no avail and they were not able to make it reliable. We had to bail on it as we had two new factory units and so we couldn't extend an already-faulty system in there.

Those details worked perfectly. I did see them before but I misread:

Password: FactoryDefault

as:

Password:

...and tried the default ones I found rather than that specifically!

Is that the whole system wiped or would I still need to run anything further to clear off any configuration?

Thanks again,

John
