How to configure loopback nat (hairpin nat) in a RFS4000 working as the subnet gatewayy

Hello community,

I have an RFS4000 working as the main router/gateway for internet access on a small subnet with the NAT properly configured and operational.  We have in place some port forwards to a web server and IP Cameras however, I would like to configure loopback nat (hairpin nat) so you can access port forwards from within the NAT using the outside IP (domain name) transparently.

Do you have information on how to configure this on WiNG OS?

Thank you.

Looking over the NAT guide and reviewing the article you sent, I don't see anything close or equivalent to reflection/Hair pin Nat as an option.
I will assume this is not possible with the WiNG RFS controller.

Please note:
RFS is not a dedicated firewall appliance so not every firewall capability will be available.

Morning adf10,

You should be able to find that information in the how to guide below.

Hello Daren,

Thank you very much for your help and pointing me to the NAT how-to guide.  However, this guide only describe how to configure NAT translation for outgoing connections (in order to share the internet access among the local subnet) and the incoming Port Forwards, needed to access Web Server, Cameras etc from the outside (internet). I have all this configuration in place.

What I'm looking for is if it is possible to configure the hairpin Nat. Here is a link where it explains what I need:  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/secure-firewall-threat-defense/221949-configure-...

I was hoping that this could be achieved with RFS4000.

Thank you again for all your help.
