PPP over Ethernet on AP8232

PPP over Ethernet on AP8232

Has anyone successfully connected a WiNG AP to a PPP over Ethernet service?

I'm hoping to connect some AP8232s to domestic broadband providers that use PPPoE. In the first instance this would use GE2 on the AP, while GE1 will connect to the local LAN.

I think it's mostly clear but I can't quite understand what is meant by "DSL Modem Network (VLAN)." Now whereas with a Cisco router you would probably make a physical interface a member of the dialer pool, I'm supposing that in the case of the WiNG AP, you do this with a VLAN, then make GE2 (in my case) an access port on that VLAN.

If anyone has any suggestions or working configs, I'd be very grateful to hear them.

Hi Chris,

Have not seen very much customers configure that scenario especially recently.
Attached is an old PPPoE how-to guide that has a configuration example.

Thank you Daren. I have got it working; I just needed to understand that you need to attach a VLAN to the PPPoE interface. In my case, I made GE2 an access port in that VLAN, and once the service provider's PPPoE credentials with CHAP were entered, it all started working.

It appears that the "Service Name" is not required, which is just as well since I don't have one.
