We have a requirement in our office for guest setup. Whenever a guest comes & need internet access, he should connect to guest SSID. The captive portal should ask for guest name, name of the person he is visiting & email of the employee whom he going to meet. Then the employee whos email id is entered should receive the authentication code & using that authentication code guest can login.
How to achieve this? Should we need to integrate other application with VX9000?

Here is the VX9000 and NAC integration guide, this does not go over the sponsored guest access configuration, but that isn't complicated and can be easily achieved by following the article below, after the NAC is integrated with VX9000.

Is the ExtremeGuest solution moved to cloud?

ExtremeGuest is available as VM only solution, if you have access to our software download portal, you can download the ISO file from the following link and use it to demo upto 100 devices for 60 days I believe. Good enough for you to test the solution.

If you don't already have XMC and ExtremeControl, I won't recommend to get one just for Sponsored Guest Access. ExtremeGuest would be the best fit in your case.

Thanks for the reply. Is extreme guest & Extreme control NAC is a separate hardware or it is software which can run on VM? Is there any demo image available for it to test with VX9000?

Hi ddpatil89,
VX9000 supports guest self-registration with email/sms validation, it also supports Social Media i.e. Google and Facebook. The use case you have described is a case of “Sponsored Guest Access” which is not supported by the VX9000 based Captive Portal. You can use ExtremeGuest which is our Captive Portal and Guest analytics solution and integrates with VX9000. ExtremeGuest will support Sponsored Guest Access and more. With ExtremeGuest, you can either send the passcode to the sponsor who then shares with it the guest or upon a registration request by the guest the sponsors get an email with a link where he/she can allow/deny access to the guest, once allowed by the sponsor the guest receives the passcode. Please see the link below for ExtremeGuest features, specs, and other details:

If you happen to be a customer that uses our XMC and ExtremeControl NAC solution, ExtremeControl also offers Sponsored Guest Access.

Ovais
