X450, The MGMT port at back and a vlan I have created on the box are using the same mac address
I'm not interested in the rites and wrongs of this I have my reasons for patching this together
but they use the same MAC
I'm looking to change the mac ...
I'm attempting to configure a simple PoC for Pim Sparse mode on a pair of X250 switches,
I've enabled trial licences, and A RP is elected .
Everything looks ok but my RP never forwards traffic downstream
Any thoughts ?
XOS is it possible to disable a built in stacking port.
I want this to troubleshoot a possible stacking issue.

I have a question
For a customer I have these options
Between the 2 MLag switches are these options
A 2 port aggregation of 1 gig links
A single 10 gig link ( a newer network )
So the trade off I have...
Some NIC don't always go into promiscuous mode as commanded by the software ( TCPDUMP or wireshark ) , I have seen this with some USB NICs or in VMWARE environments.
Problem is if you were to capture egress and ingress on every port in a vlan, you would see every packet twice. I'm not sure how if the extreme captures traffic being routed internally on vlan ( does that count as a port ) would be good if someone he...
That like saying if I plug in a link will i effect my network, it depends, are you about to loop the network ? . BTW i think MLAG does not support spanning tree.
With Spanning tree the port will block, obviously the unmanaged switch will be down until the loop stops. ELRP does work well but in my experience customers forget where its configured or configure it on uplinks by mistake, resulting in the " every n...
