switches 5320 consuming navigator licensenses

Hello!

I have a bunch of 5320 stacks in a customer being identified as navigator instead of pilot. There are enough pilot licenses to accomodate all of them. To make it more confusing other 5320 with same OS version, same config, same oid, same vendor profile etc are properly identified as pilot.

I have tried to delete the device and recreate it, unmanage and manage it, nothing makes a difference, some devices, always the same devices, are identified as navigator.

Site engine version is 24.07.11.22. We just upgraded trying to find a solution to this issue that we have been experiencing since version 23.X , among others.

I am aware of this article it didn't help devices with pilot and devices with navigator share the same vendor profile.

This is a screenshow where I tried to show relevant data to demonstrate that devices are as equal as they can be, only the configuration may be different since they are in different sites.

Hello Salva,

We had the same issue, and from what I recall we had to resync entirely our XIQ-SE with XIQ to make it consumes the right license. To do this you need to remove the XIQ-SE entry from XIQ, it will remove all devices from the cloud but not from XIQ-SE don't worry. And then you add again your xiq-se to the cloud to make it sync again all your licenses.

Also there is a menu where you can see the detail messages of the sync between XIQ-SE and XIQ. I do not have the GUI in front of me right now, but in the admin page of XIQ-SE, in options, you need to look for something like "XIQ messages" or "XIQ details". And it will list the license status of all your devices with a detailed message for each one not working properly.

Hope this helps.
