Factory reset AP6521

Factory reset AP6521

Hi everyone, I did an update that "killed" 2 of my APs. I tried everything to adopt them with another AP or the RFS4000 but nothing to do. I would need a skyjack in order to get the S/N or to replace them. Anyone has a trick to factory reset them without serial number or to adopt them without IP? I have login information but lost the IP.

Please help!

Thank you!

Great article! I realized these are my favorite kinds of GI articles. Enough news and reviews, more stuff like this! Let the writers get creative!

If the secondary zeroconfig IP address is still configured you may be able to access the AP via said IP address.

Here are the instructions on calculating the zeroconfig IP address: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000081445

Subnet mask is /16 and not /24.

But you will at the very least require the MAC address for above.

Have you tried the AP discovery tool: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000084440&q=AP%20Discovery%20Tool

I would use Wire Shark to figure out their IPs. Put the monitor on, and power cycle the units... you'll see them come up, I would expect with a 169.254.x.x address. Hope that helps...

Their IPs shown in AP Discover Tool are 0.0.0.0
