Verifying Authenticity of an Extreme Networks Product

Verifying Authenticity of an Extreme Networks Product

Here's a product purchase question that I didn't see on the forum:

Other than purchasing from an authorized dealer (obviously the preferred method), is there a way to verify that a supposedly "new" Extreme Networks device is authentic?  🤔  Is there a database of valid serial numbers that can be checked against, or a database of devices reported as stolen?  I would want to consult this before attempting to onboard (for instance) a purchased AP to ExtremeCloud IQ.

Thanks.

Hello @gnar13,

There is no such database but you can always provide us with the serial numbers for verification.

Hi Christoph_S,

Thanks.  Should I PM the numbers to you, or is there another contact I should use?  (I'm going to include one or two from an authorized dealer as well - as a double check on them.  🤔  Still working with simulated devices in ExtremeCloud IQ Connect.)
