Some switches in my network are being displayed as down on the map while they're up ...

Sorry but I don't see any switch that is down in your example.
The orange arrow icon means that the device is up but there is an active alarm i.e. port down

Thats righ so sorry I didn't notice .. but in this two switches when I open the device view I couldn't see the port states! when I oppened a neighbor switch and check the port connected to the first error giving switch I only see the mac!
and I have no alarms... I reconfigured snmp to solve the issue!

a red arrow pointing down = device down/unreachable
